Prof. YILDIZ’s research areas include: plant tissue culture, plant biotechnology, molecular markers, Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated gene transfer, plant stress physiology, plant immune system, plant defense mechanism and plant breeding. Mustafa YILDIZ has scientific publications over 150, two books, 9 book chapters and an editted book. He was awarded as 1st place in the “International Sunflower Project Market” by “International Sunflower Association” for his project titled “A New Environmental Friendly Production Method in Sunflower for High Seed and Crude Oil Yields”.

Dr. Alexander Ivlev received his PhD (1968) at Mendeleev Chemical Technology Institute (Russia) for “Thermodynamics of Isotope Exchange of Elements with Middle and Heavy Masses” studies. After receiving PhD he worked in All-Union Oil Research Institute as a senior scientific researcher. Next PhD (1986) he received at Institute of Chemical Physics of Russian Academy of Sciences for “The Regularities of Carbon Isotope Fractionation in Biological Systems” studies. In 2005 he was awarded by Medal of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences “To Author of Scientific Discovery” for establishing link between carbon isotope distribution in metabolites and temporal organization of metabolic processes. Keeping on his work in Oil Research Institute in 1994 he was invited to lecture in Russian State Agrarian University. In the University he went on studying photosynthesis by means of isotopic technique. Oscillatory character of photosynthesis was his finding. In 1995 he received Professor’s degree. Dr. Alexander Ivlev is an author of 5 scientific monographs and more than 200 publications. His present interests: chemical & biological evolution, interaction of photosynthesis and Earth’s crust processes. One of his recent works “Photosynthesis in Global Cycle of Biosphere Carbon” in monograph “Applied Photosynthesis. New Progress” (2016).

Henry M. Sobell completed his studies at Brooklyn Technical High School (1948-1952), Columbia College (1952-1956), and the University of Virginia School of Medicine (1956-1960). Instead of practicing clinical medicine, he then went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to join Professor Alexander Rich in the Department of Biology (1960-1965), where, as a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow, he learned the technique of single crystal X-ray analysis. He then joined the Chemistry Department at the University of Rochester, having been subsequently jointly appointed to both the Chemistry and Molecular Biophysics departments (the latter at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry), becoming a full tenured Professor in both departments (1965-1993).He is now retired and living in the Adirondacks in New York, USA.

He was the founding Director of the Otto Warburg Minerva Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Dean at the Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot, Vice President for Research and Development at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem; nominated President of the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot. He is recognized as a pioneer in the field of biocontrol and induced resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses in plants. Positions: (1986–1989);, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1991–2001).
